Class of 2009 Outstanding Graduates - PSFA (Ceremony 1)
Below are several of San Diego State University's outstanding graduates from the class of 2009, which includes nearly 10,000 degree candidates:

Anthony Shelton
Anthony Shelton, B.A., art (multimedia emphasis)
As an SDSU Presidential Grant scholar, Anthony Shelton graduated with high academic achievements and extracurricular activities from a high school in an underserved area of Los Angeles.
During his time at SDSU he worked as a student assistant in the enrollment services communications office and served as president of Ignite Student Ministries, a student organization that hosts Bible studies and fellowship.
After graduation he plans to stay in San Diego and use his multimedia skills to help young people, either by creating video games or as a minister. (Hometown: Inglewood, Calif.)
Iris Caffin Iris Caffin, 38, B.A., television, film and new media
Iris Caffin transferred to SDSU in fall 2007 and was immediately accepted into the television, film and new media program. Determined to help out her parents, who were working long hours to afford her tuition, Caffin came armed with a national scholarship from the Broadcast Education Association and with money she received as the recipient of the largest Emmy scholarship in 2007 from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
While at SDSU, Caffin produced and directed award-winning television shows and films and was selected for the American Cinema Editors' prestigious annual student competition. She is also a 2009 outstanding graduate in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts.
Caffin hopes to become an editor in the future, and she also has interest in becoming a teacher. (Hometown: Amsterdam, Netherlands)
