Top Students Honored

Each year, graduating seniors selected for membership in all five university-wide honors societies receive the Henry L. Janssen Honors Council Award.

The 2009 recipients are:

  • Melissa Collins, Foods and Nutrition
  • Amelia Diedrich, English
  • Corinne Pogemiller, Kinesiology
  • Krista Fendrick, Biology
  • Cassandra Conboy, Liberal Studies
  • Carly Sumrow, English
  • Lacy Olson, Psychology
  • Stephanie Hubbell, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences

Students must be members of the following organizations in order to qualify for the award:

  • Phi Eta Sigma
  • Golden Key
  • Phi Kappa Phi
  • Mortar Board
  • Phi Beta Kappa

Established in 2000, the award recognizes students for their academic achievement. It encourages eligible students to join and participate in the university-wide honor societies.

Students accepted for the award are listed in the commencement program and receive a $500 scholarship.
