Accountancy Professor Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Chee W. Chow, professor in the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy, received the Lifetime Contribution Award by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

The AICPA, in conjunction with the Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association, recognized Chow for his many significant contributions to the field of management accounting.

Chow, a prolific researcher, has been with the university for nearly 26 years.

“This award is a culmination of years of outstanding academic research, service to the educational community and mentoring of other faculty members,” said Sharon Lightner, the William E. Cole Director of the Charles. W. Lamden School of Accountancy.

“On behalf of SDSU, we are extremely proud of Dr. Chow’s many fine achievements and exceptional contributions. We are honored to call him one of our own,” Lightner said.

Chow received the honor during organization’s mid-year meeting and luncheon on Jan. 8, 2010 in Las Vegas.
