McKinley joins SDSU from the University of North Texas.
Mandy McKinley is the new assistant athletic director in charge of the Aztec Athletic Foundation and annual giving for SDSU Athletics.
Experienced fundraiser
McKinley comes to Montezuma Mesa from the University of North Texas, where she served as the associate athletic director for annual and major gifts.
In seven years at North Texas, McKinley enabled the Mean Green Club to increase membership nearly 600 percent, while raising $6.4 million for its capital campaign.
Serving a critical need
"We are thrilled to have Mandy join our fundraising team," said Don Olberhelman, interim director of athletics and chief operating officer.
"Fundraising is critical to our ability to provide an excellent academic and athletic experience for our student-athletes. Mandy has the experience and skill set to help us continue raising these most important funds."
Prior to North Texas, McKinley served as a membership coordinator for the Eagle Club at Southern Miss. In addition, McKinley was a student-athlete at Hutchison Community College (Kan.) on a basketball scholarship.
"I am thrilled to become a member of the San Diego State family," McKinley said. "With the tremendous leadership that is already in place, I am excited about the opportunity to help advance Aztec athletics and build upon the current success of its programs. It is a great time to be involved with San Diego State athletics. I look forward to cultivating relationships with our current supporters and I'm excited about the prospects of developing new donors."
