Campanile Foundation Welcomes New Board Members
The three board members represent SDSUs connections to local industry.
The Campanile Foundation, the philanthropic arm of San Diego State University, welcomed three new board members this month.
“The Campanile Foundation is fortunate to have these industry leaders join the board as strong advocates and trusted advisors,” said Mary Ruth Carleton, CEO of The Campanile Foundation and vice president of University Relations and Development.
“Most importantly, they serve as partners in philanthropy who truly understand the need for funding public higher education at SDSU.”
About the new board members
The new board members include:
- Salim Janmohamed is managing director of Deutsche Bank National Trust Company in Costa Mesa. A two-time Aztec, he received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and MBA in finance in 1974 and 1979, respectively.
- Susan Nowakowski is CEO, president and director of AMN Healthcare Services, the largest health-care staffing company in the United States. Nowakowski graduated from SDSU with an MBA in 1989.
- Patti Roscoe is director of Allied International, a destination management company. She is chairman of the board of advisors and a founder of the SDSU L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, which has raised $20 million in the past 10 years. In 2009, she endowed a professorship in the school’s Institute for Meetings and Events.
TCF board members play an active role in advancing SDSU and, cumulatively, the current and past board members have given more than $22 million to SDSU over their lifetimes.
The Campanile Foundation is currently leading the university in its first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign to raise money for several university-wide initiatives and recently completed a scholarship campaign that raised more than $5 million for student scholarships. During the 2008–09 fiscal year, The Campanile Foundation received more than $65 million in philanthropic gifts to support the university.
