Campus Safety Advisory
Former student threatened faculty member via internet
On Tuesday, SDSU Police arrested a former student, Alvin Johnson Fearn, on charges that he threatened a current SDSU faculty member. The threats were not made in person or on campus but rather via the internet. Fearn was released from jail this morning – a court order has been issued that requires him to stay away from the faculty member and we are issuing a University Trespassing Order preventing him from being on campus.
While we no longer consider Fearn a threat to the campus, we have taken additional steps to ensure the safety of both the faculty member and the campus. Here is a physical description of Fearn:
- White male adult
- Age: 40
- Brown hair, hazel eyes
- Height: 5 ‘11
- Weigh: 190 lbs
If you see Fearn on or near the SDSU campus, we ask that you call SDSU Police immediately at 619-594-1991 or 9-1-1 from any campus landline.
We take all threats to the safety and security of our students, faculty and staff very seriously. If you or someone you know is ever the victim of such a threat, we ask that you report it to campus police immediately.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact SDSU Police at 619-594-1991 or [email protected]
