The facility will host an open house with free on-the-water activities, gourmet food trucks and a silent auction/raffle.
From noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, May 21, the Mission Bay Aquatic Center will celebrate its 40th Anniversary with an open house.
The open house will include free on-the-water activities, along with gourmet food trucks and a silent auction/raffle to raise money for camp scholarships.
Celebrating MBAC
"Over 400,000 people have experienced water sports at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center since our opening in 1971," said Amanda Burgess, MBAC office supervisor. "We want to invite the community to come out and celebrate with us."
Students, friends, fans, alumni and past recreation staff are all invited to come celebrate 40 years of fun at MBAC.
"We hope people come out to see how much we have to offer — even people who have never been to our facility before," Burgess said.
Free shuttle service will be offered from the Bonita Cove parking lot to the aquatic center the day of the event.
