For the past 16 years, San Diegans have gathered to spread holiday cheer to less fortunate children through the Toys for Joy charity event, sponsored by The Rock Church.

This year, three San Diego State University student organizations will contribute to the annual charity drive:

  • Intervarsity
  • 1825/SDSU
  • Aztecs Against Adversity

The students will coordinate donation drives and help organize and participate in the Toys for Joy events.

"It's really inspiring that college students are wanting to get involved," said Jemalyn Chavez, the Rock Church public relations volunteer and Toys for Joy coordinator. "It's great how they are using their resources and campus networks to help others."

Chavez is a 2011 graduate of SDSU's public relations program. Learn more about Chavez.
