San Diego State athletics clinched two more Mountain West championships this weekend, bringing the total for the 2012-2013 season to nine. Both the men's and women's tennis teams captured regular season championships with wins over Nevada and Air Force, respectively.

The No. 40 men's team held off Nevada, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon to claim its the first regular season crown since 2007.

With the score tied, 3-3, it all came down to sophomore Andranik Khachatryan with the conference title on the line. Khachatryan dropped the first set, before rallying for a three-set victory, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, to seal the match victory and the season accomplishment for the Aztecs (18-7, 6-0 MW).

The Aztecs will have a first-round bye in the Mountain West Championships this week at USAF Academy, Colo., and will play on Saturday afternoon.

The women's team clinched its first outright Mountain West Conference title since 2003 on Saturday with a satisfying 6-1 victory over Air Force at the USAF Academy. The match was originally scheduled to be played in Fort Collins, Colo., however, weather-related issues prompted the change of venue.

With the win, the 41st-ranked Aztecs claimed their 13th straight dual match, closing out their regular-season schedule with a 20-4 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in league play, while the Falcons drop to 13-9 on the year and 2-5 in MW action.
