Participate in the Pride Parade
Members of the SDSU community are invited to take part in the Pride Parade on July 13.
San Diego State University is inviting students, faculty, staff and alumni to participate in the San Diego LGBT Pride Parade on Saturday, July 13.
The annual event is the 4th largest in the United States, attracting more than 200,000 participants each year. 2013 marks the 4th year SDSU has had a delegation in the parade.
"The parade and festival bring attention to the historical struggle for gay civil rights and highlight the social justice work being done today," said Aaron Bruce, chief diversity officer at SDSU.
"Participating in Pride events is one of many ways our university demonstrates our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and celebrating the San Diego Pride Parade has become somewhat of a tradition for our campus community."
In addition to the parade, San Diego Pride's famous cultural festival includes multiple stages of entertainment, more than 80 musicians, bands, comedy and dance performers, 300 vendor booths, an art exhibit, cultural presentations and food.
