"What is your favorite building on the SDSU Campus?"

San Diego State University's official Facebook page asked this question to the more than 37,000 fans of the page.  The fan base consists of students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the SDSU community. The diverse nature of the group provided for some interesting responses.

Not surprisingly, Hepner Hall, SDSU's iconic building and central campus hub, ranked at the top, with 23 percent of the votes. Responses indicated that the beauty of the architecture and the classic SDSU symbolism attributed to its popularity.

Viejas Arena received 16 percent of the votes. The concerts, games and important rites of passage, including convocation and commencement explain this building's acclaim among the SDSU community.

The turtle pond next to Scripps Cottage was another favorite among the responders with 14 percent of the votes.

"I love Scripps Cottage and the koi (aka turtle) pond, especially on a sunny day where you can lay on the grass in between classes," said Yvonne Parsons, a current SDSU student.

Alumni reminisced about Monty's Den, a pub that was located in the old Aztec Center.
