1. Why did you choose SDSU?

I’ve been coming to San Diego since I was a child and when I learned SDSU had a great journalism school, I knew it was the perfect university for me. Going into my third year here at SDSU, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to attend this school. In my time here, I’ve met some amazing people and have grown so much as a person.

2. What inspired you to declare your major?

Journalism has been something that has interested me for a while. I’ve always loved writing and communicating with people and with a career in journalism, I feel like it wouldn’t be work, it would be just doing what I love.

3. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

“Be the change you wish to see in the world," from Mahatma Gandhi.

4. What are your future goals?

I would love to go into either broadcast journalism or be an editor in the magazine industry. There are so many great opportunities in journalism and I’m trying to explore all outlets now so I know exactly what I want to do once I graduate.

I follow close to 50 different news sources on Twitter and it’s great to be able to wake up each morning and get a full perspective of what’s going on in the news just by looking at my newsfeed.

6. What experience at SDSU has changed your life the most?

I can’t pinpoint one experience. Getting involved with organizations on campus has definitely enhanced my life for the better. It’s been great to have met a variety of people who share similar interests as me and hold the same values.

7. What is the most interesting or surprising thing about you?

I love to travel. It’s exciting visiting other parts of the world and embracing myself in different cultures and societies. It’s so interesting to see how other people live.
