Celebrating National Student Day
The SDSU Bookstore will host events on National Student Day, Oct. 3.
The San Diego State University Bookstore is joining hundreds of other college stores across North America Oct. 3 to celebrate and promote social responsibility during the third annual National Student Day.
National Student Day, sponsored by the National Association of College Stores, is a day dedicated to celebrating and promoting social responsibility by college students.
“A portion of every Aztec gear purchase on National Student Day will benefit Aztecs Rock Hunger,” said Ben Eisenstein, marketing manager for the SDSU Bookstore. “It’s pretty simple — the more students show their school spirit, the more support goes to the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank.”
National Student Day activities
The SDSU Bookstore has a whole day of activities planned for October 3, including:
- Discounts on Aztec gear all day from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
- Tax-free Mac laptops and desktops and $25 off iPads
- Complimentary refreshments starting at 11 a.m.
- Sleep with a Purpose SDSU blanket prize drawing (a blanket is donated to a local charity with each purchase)
Social responsibility in action
Students can also win prizes from NACS by sharing their story of social responsibility.
Students can submit their story on how they give back to their community online. Stories will then be voted on by students across North America. The three most popular stories will win awards consisting of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 scholarships, and seven randomly selected submissions will win iPads.
