SDSU Renews Deal with PepsiCo
San Diego State University has signed a new multi-year agreement keeping PepsiCo North America Beverages as its official beverage sponsor.
San Diego State University today announced a multi-year agreement with PepsiCo North America Beverages extending the partnership that began in 2006, when PepsiCo became the official beverage sponsor of the university.
“Our partnership with PepsiCo has been exceptional for SDSU,” said Tom McCarron, Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs. “This campus-wide partnership has already supported a number of academic and athletic programs and will continue to benefit the campus community through student scholarships, sustainability initiatives and Aztec Athletics.”
Supporting student success
Through the agreement, PepsiCo North America Beverages will continue to support SDSU’s academic and athletic programs, contributing to scholarships as well as engagement activities such as diversity initiatives, Welcome Week, Aztec Nights events, job fairs and speakers’ series.
Each year representatives from PepsiCo North America Beverages and SDSU, including students, will meet to discuss the best ways to allocate funds for sustainability projects and additional campus engagement activities and co-branding opportunities.
Strong partnership
“SDSU has a strong base of students, alumni and fans throughout the region and we’re excited to continue our relationship as its official beverage sponsor,” said Alex Orr, senior manager for PepsiCo Foodservice. “We’ve shared a strong partnership with SDSU for many years and look forward to working with the University and its students on new initiatives.”
PepsiCo will continue to supply the fountain beverages as well as canned and bottled drinks sold in campus restaurants, convenience stores, vending machines and catering. PepsiCo’s wide variety of beverage brands include Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Tropicana, Naked Juice, Lipton Iced Tea and Aquafina. PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay and Quaker brands are also sold on campus.
