1. Why did you choose SDSU?

When I applied and got accepted to SDSU, I actually had not visited the campus since my sophomore year of high school, when my older brother was visiting colleges. I chose SDSU because it was far enough from Los Angeles to allow me to experience living on my own, but close enough so that visiting my family wouldn’t be unmanageable.

2. What inspired you to declare your major?

Declaring public relations as my major was a happy accident. I always knew I enjoyed writing, so as an incoming freshman I went with Journalism with an emphasis in media studies. I didn’t know what public relations was until I met my friend David, who at the time was a public relations major. He convinced me to declare public relations as my emphasis and I’ve never regretted it since. It’s a challenging program, but I fell in love with the versatility of public relations. Thanks David!

3. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

“God doesn’t put you through anything you can’t handle.”

4. What are your future goals?

My future goals include landing a job that enables me to travel all over the world. I also hope to work for Disney and/or Ellen DeGeneres one day. When I’m retired, I want to own a cute little business somewhere near the beach.

5. What is the first website you look at every day?

Twitter. I am constantly on Twitter. It’s my way of knowing what’s going on in the world.

6. What experience at SDSU has changed your life the most?

Joining PRSSA has changed my life the most because it was through this organization that I had the opportunity to travel to Philadelphia for the PRSSA National Conference this past October. Prior to this trip, I had never travelled by plane on my own.

7. What is the most interesting or surprising thing about you?

Other than my awesome skill of moving my nose like a bunny, I am a major Johnny Depp fan. One of my goals is to have a DVD collection of every one of his movies.

Bonus Questions

1. What was the last movie you saw? Thumbs up or down?

"The Croods" (with my four year old brother). Thumbs up!

2. What city would you like to visit or visit again?

Chicago.

3. What kind of music do you listen to/what are your favorite bands?

I like all types of music really, although I’ll always love the sound of acoustic guitar and piano. I can’t choose a favorite!
