The SDSU Communication Master's Program was named one of the top 10 programs in the world.

The San Diego State University communication master's degree has been named the tenth best program in the world, according to the annual Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking list published in December.
Of the U.S. schools to make the top 10 list, the program came in at number six.
The independent agency, which looks at specific programs rather than the whole institution, based its ranking off of a year-long evaluation process that surveyed respondents regarding the reputation of the program, salary of graduates and satisfaction of the students enrolled in the degree program.
More honors
News of the achievement comes on the heels of another honor bestowed on the School of Communication this past fall.
In October, the Communication Institute for Online Scholarship, named SDSU’s School of Communication one of the top masters-level programs in the U.S. and Canada whose research output surpassed most Ph.D.-granting programs.
The institute used a metrics system designed to measure the productivity of communications faculty at four-year institutions in North America. It is the only such measurement in the field of communication which looks at non-Ph.D. and Ph.D granting programs side by side.
On average, schools with research-intensive Ph.D. programs produced 90 faculty articles per department. SDSU not only exceeded this average, it was one of only eleven schools across the nation that produces as much research as the field’s top 25 Ph.D. programs.
