7 Things About Maria Castagnola
Maria Castagnola knows all about having Aztec pride.
Maria Castagnola is a junior from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. This stand-out communication student is involved with Alpha Phi sorority and the Order of Omega honor society. Even though she is far away from home, Castagnola has found her place at San Diego State University.
1. Why did you choose SDSU?
SDSU just felt right. I had never been here before, but when I saw my acceptance online, there was no other option in my mind.
2. What inspired you to declare your major?
I always knew that I wanted to pursue a communications degree. Communications is a broad discipline — enough to not limit my future career opportunities, yet specific enough to push me in the right direction.
3. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?
Always allow yourself one day to be upset/sad/frustrated about something, but only one day.
4. What are your future goals?
I was never the type to know exactly what I wanted to do career-wise, but I do know that if I have a secure job and I can surround myself with my best friends, then I will probably be fine!
5. What is the first website you look at every day?
Guilty pleasure ... Facebook.
6. What experience at SDSU has changed your life the most?
Choosing to live with 40 girls for the past two years has definitely changed my life. My grades, school spirit, health and overall happiness would not be the same without them!
7. What is the most interesting or surprising thing about you?
My eyes randomly changed from dark brown to green in high school.
