Ed Glebus is the associate director and executive chef for Aztec Shops.

1. What inspired you to do this kind of work?

My grandmother owned a restaurant, so I have always have had a passion for food. Every day is always a new challenge.  

2. How long have you worked at SDSU?

Since January 2014.

3. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

Learn it, master it, move on.
 
4. What is your favorite thing about your job?

When you finally find something that you love, you don’t feel like you're working. I have found that is true with cooking.

5. What about your field or position do you think would surprise people the most?

The reality is that you could be coming out of school with full training, $60,000 in debt, and still not be a chef. It takes years of experience to attain the level of chef.

6. What is the most interesting or surprising thing about you?

I am an Eagle Scout.

7. If you could only rescue one thing from your burning office, what would it be?

My knife kit. They are my babies.

1. What is your favorite kind of music/what are your favorite bands?

I like rock from the 60s and 70s — bands like Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Janis Joplin and the Grateful Dead.

2. What is your favorite sports team or who is your favorite individual athlete?


I'm not a big sports fan. I'm usually rooting for the winner, though!
