His unique teaching style fuses marine biology concepts with elements of hip-hop. Each semester, Long teams up with students from Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach to teach important marine biology concepts with a fun twist — turning learning into a hip-hop video.
This year's result is "Seaweed Shop," a play on Macklemore's hit song "Thrift Shop" that explores the negative effects of copper on seaweed.
