Gifts of the Week
The Campaign for SDSU is approaching its $500 million goal.
The Campaign for SDSU is the university’s first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign.
It was launched to create new opportunities for student success and to help San Diego State University continue to develop as a leading public research university.
The following are some of the recent gifts received in addition to many others that support all areas of the SDSU campus.
SDSU received two bequests from the estate of the late Marian K. Van Kirk. These gifts total $42,100 and will support scholarships at SDSU.
Alumnus Leon ('51) and Barbara Parma made an annual gift of $25,000 to support athletic scholarships.
From Richard and Barbara Barrett, SDSU has received a gift of $5,000 to support the women's volleyball program.
Qualcomm has made two gifts to match previous gifts from its employees. The gifts total $17,500 in support of the Fred Harris fellowship and the Fred Harris scholarships in the College of Engineering.
Nicholas Frazee has donated an additional $35,000 to support the Basketball Performance Center and scholarships for student-athletes on SDSU's basketball teams.
SDSU received a gift of $10,000 for the Camp Able Program from the San Diego Foundation.
Alumnus John Pedicini donated $8,500 to support athletic scholarships.
About the Campaign
Through The Campaign for SDSU, the university will move forward with strategic investments in people and programs.
Private funding is needed to attract and retain top faculty, support innovative programs and assist talented students through scholarships.
