Nathaniel Hall is a graduate student studying furniture design at San Diego State University.

1. Why did you choose SDSU?

Many people do not know of SDSU's reputation in their graduate furniture design program. It is one of the best in the country and is very competitive. I came here because of Wendy Maruyama who is a professor here, and also its geographic location. I'm from Buffalo, New York — Southern California is a pretty nice climate to live in!

Wendy Maruyama.

Taking the digital fabrication classes in the School of Art and Design. It is a way of working that I have been wanting to learn and drastically increases my skillset and is taking my work in new and exciting directions.

5. What has been your proudest achievement while at SDSU?

Being cast and competing in Spike TV's new reality furniture build show, "Framework" on television now!

Teaching furniture design at a major university and producing the most amazing work that I am capable of.

7. What’s your favorite thing about being an Aztec?

All the beautiful people that make up this large student body. I love walking through campus on my way to The Habit for an ice cream cone. On the way I get to view all the beautiful people.
