Spotlight on KCR
San Diego will honor the recent achievements of SDSU's student-run radio station.
KCR College Radio, San Diego State University's student-run radio station, won Best Online Station at the Intercollegiate Broadcast System Golden Microphone Awards for 2015.
In addition KCR was a finalist for the Abraham and Borst award for Best College Radio Station Overall.
To recognize KCR, the County of San Diego will proclaim April 21, 2015 "KCR College Radio Day" in the county of San Diego. The proclamation will be presented by the County Supervisor Dianne Jacobs during the April 21 Board of Supervisors meeting.
The City of San Diego will also honor KCR, proclaiming April 28, 2015 "KCR College Radio Day." Council President Pro Tem Marti Emerald will present the proclamation at the April 28 City Council meeting.
Both proclamations will be presented to representatives of KCR.

Intercollegiate Broadcasting System honors excellence in programming, air personalities, public service efforts and outstanding stations with the Golden Microphone Awards.Any student or adviser from an Intercollegiate Broadcasting System member institution is eligible to enter the awards competition.

SDSU's student-run radio station broadcasts live online for the SDSU and greater San Diego community.
All shows are hosted by current SDSU students and occasionally alumni. The station covers music, news and sports.
KCR has been in continuous operation since 1969. The station broadcasts live on local digital cable channels, online and on the TuneIn radio app.
