Statement Regarding the death of SDSU student Clare Orton

SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs, Eric Rivera extends condolences on the passing of Clare Orton.

San Diego State University Vice President for Student Affairs Eric Rivera extends his condolences on the death of SDSU student Clare Orton, 19, who was an environmental engineering major and honors interdisciplinary studies minor. Clare was home for summer break in northern California when she died.

“The entire university community is saddened by the passing of Clare, a bright and promising student who had already made an impact on the SDSU campus in her first year of being an Aztec. The loss of any young life is heartbreaking and we send our heartfelt thoughts to her family during this difficult time,” Rivera said.
