San Diego State University is hosting the second in its monthly series of Let’s Talk briefings where the campus community is invited to participate in an open dialogue about sexual violence awareness and prevention. The discussions, which are led by SDSU Title IX Coordinator Jessica Rentto, aim to break down the myths and stigmas associated with sexual violence.

The event will take place on Thursday Sept. 24 from 3 to 4 p.m. in Scripps Cottage.

In this briefing, panelists will discuss options available to students who experience sexual violence and the role various campus departments play in providing support, as well as options for reporting.  The briefing will include an open question and answer session.

Panelists include:

  • Lee Mintz, Director, Student Rights and Responsibilities and Deputy Title IX Coordinator
  • Jennifer Rikard, Director, Counseling and Psychological Services
  • Jenny Harper, Sexual Assault Victim Advocate
  • Detective Carrie Hogan, SDSU Police Department
  • Carol Boyle, Nurse Practitioner, Student Health Services

The briefing is offered as part of SDSU's Let's Talk campaign(http://sdsutalks.sdsu.edu/sdsutalks/). A complete list of up-coming Let's Talk events is available online.
