Applications for Quest for the Best Awards Now Open
The awards recognize outstanding student leaders.
2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the Quest for the Best Awards at San Diego State University. This year’s recognition ceremony will be held in conjunction with a gala event attended by past Quest for the Best honorees invited back to campus to mark the anniversary.
Presented by the Student Life and Leadership Office, the Quest for the Best Vice Presidential Student Services Leadership Awards will begin accepting applications January 22 to recognize outstanding student leaders who demonstrate excellence in academics, campus involvement and community service.
As observers of some of the remarkable student achievements happening on campus, whether it is through academics, participation in student organizations or student-led research, SDSU faculty and staff are invited to encourage students making a mark on campus to apply.
Approximately 10 students will receive the award at a gala honoring the “best of the best” students in April. Enrolled SDSU students with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA who have completed at least one year at SDSU and earned at least 75 units of college work are eligible for the awards. Applicants are then evaluated in four areas.
- Academic excellence
- Student involvement and commitment
- Community service outside the SDSU campus
- Leadership qualities and development
The application deadline is Feb. 15 at 4 p.m.
