Gifts to the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts support students in more than 30 different courses of study.
Gifts to PSFA support not only students and student organizations, but also help the college recruit and retain top faculty and strengthen its nationally recognized academic programs.
Recent support to PSFA includes:
- A $200,000 gift from Professor Emeritus Deborah Dexter to endow a scholarship in the musical theatre program
- A gift of $50,000 from alumna Kathleen Kennedy, ’79, and her husband, Frank Marshall, to support the School of Television, Film and New Media
- A $35,000 gift from Campanile Foundation board member Karin Winner to support inewsource in the School of Journalism and Media Studies
- A gift of $25,000 from Qualcomm, Inc. matching Aztec Dan Sullivan’s gift, to support the Forensics Speech and Debate Team
- A $15,000 gift from the Epstein Family Foundation to support music scholarships in the School of Music and Dance
- Gifts of $7,000 from George and Germaine Fusenot, $20,000 from Barry and Hema Lall and $25,000 from Arthur and Jeannie Rivkin--all to support the L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality and Tourism Management
- Gifts from Campanile Foundation board members Patti Roscoe and Evelyn Lamden, and a gift in memory of alumnus and Professor Emeritus William Lamden, to support study abroad scholarships for students minoring in international studies through PSFA
- Jack McGrory's gift of $40,000 to support the Jack McGrory Internship Adviser in the School of Public Affairs
- A $15,000 gift from Ronald Heller to support musical theatre through the Ron and Sue Heller Fund for Musical Theatre
- Cognella, Inc.’s gift of $5,500 to support the Cognella Graduate Student Scholarship in the School of Public Affairs
- A gift of $5,000 from Energy Remodeling Inc., to support the Camp Able Program, a summer day camp for children and adults with disabilities
- A gift of $15,000 from Julia Brown to support the Julia Brown Musical Theatre Scholarship
- A gift of $17,500 from Professor Emeritus Wendy Maruyama and Bill Schairer to be supplemented with $25,000 from the SDSU Art Council to create the Wendy Maruyama Endowment for the furniture design and woodworking program
- Support from alumna Susan Kasuyama, ’71, and her husband, Koji, for the Wendy Maruyama Endowment for the furniture design and woodworking program
- A gift of $6,318 from alumnus Ronald Bolles and Reina Bolles to the Bolles Family Scholarship Endowment, which supports musical theatre
- A gift of $5,000 from alumni Thomas Golich, ’60, and Donna Golich, ’60, to support the Paul Gaske Memorial Endowed Scholarship in forensics
- Support for the college in the amount of $6,200 from alumna Michele Schlecht, ’72, ’85
- A gift of $12,500 from Professor Emeritus Paul Strand supporting scholarships for international studies in PSFA and the College of Arts and Letters.
