The School of Music and Dance at San Diego State University is offering numerous summer camps this year to inspire the next generation of musicians.

Camps begin later this month, and are open to music lovers 12 years and older.

The Hausmann Chamber Music Program Summer Festival is a collaboration between the Hausmann Quartet and the SDSU Community Music School. The five-day camp offers an intensive chamber music experience for serious string, wind, brass and piano players ages 12 and older. Students will be engaged in a dynamic combination of coaching, classes, performances, and social opportunities. The Hausmann Chamber Music Program Summer Festival takes place June 21 through 25.

Another camp offered for musicians is the San Diego Summer Music Institute (SDSMI), a collaboration between San Diego Winds and the SDSU School of Music and Dance. SDSMI brings together students of all levels with some of the best musicians and teachers in Southern California to experience musical opportunities while bonding with new friends. The SDSMI camp runs from June 26 through July 2.

SDSU will also host a number of talented musicians from around the world this summer during the first annual Bravo! International Music Academy. The program, which takes place from August 2 through 14, offers two weeks of tailor-made music education for outstanding young strings and piano students.
