San Diego – get ready for a treat.

Join the College Area Business District and San Diego State University in celebrating the 12th annual Boulevard Boo! Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 beginning at the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and Rolando Boulevard, and traveling west toward 60th Street. San Diego’s only Halloween parade is expected to attract more than 10,000 ghouls, goblins, and San Diegans – ready to Monster Mash the day away to live music, floats, vintage cars, and costumes galore. The event is free and family-friendly.

SDSU Community Relations Manager Nicole Borunda describes The Boo! Parade as a “beloved local tradition,” one that the university is proud to sponsor again this year.

"It's been a fun and positive way to connect with our local community," said Borunda.

In addition to sponsorship, the Associated Students’ Campus Community Commission will reveal its Aztecs Rock Hunger float, promoting the university-wide campaign to fight hunger in San Diego.

Ken Kramer (’74)  joins the parade as its grand marshal. The former Aztec is now the creator, producer, and host of the television series, “Ken Kramer’s About San Diego” on KPBS. He will ride in a 1906 Buick owned and driven by former El Cerrito Community Council chairman Newell Booth.

After the parade, attendees are invited to the third annual AfterBOO! Carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at College Avenue Baptist Church on the corner of 62nd Street and El Cajon Boulevard. Festivities will include carnival rides, games, food, arts and craft vendors, live entertainment, and more. Donations will also be collected for the Aztecs Rock Hunger campaign.
