The Pre-Law Society is a San Diego State University student organization dedicated to providing SDSU undergraduates with an opportunity to learn about the field of law and career options.

Through the organization, members attend law forums, visit prospective law schools, and hear from guest speakers in the law field, including lawyers, judges, admission representatives, paralegal directors or test preparation organizations.

The organization’s president, Jesse Silgero, says the Pre-Law Society has helped him grow professionally and kept him focused on his main academic goal after college, which is getting into law school. He also says he has learned how to navigate the law school admissions process and explored different fields of law, all while making life-long friendships with peers in the organization.

What was your motivation for joining the Pre-Law Society?

I wanted to join the Pre-Law Society because I wanted to gain connections in law early on in my college career. I knew the earlier I networked with practicing attorneys and other like-minded students, the better. I knew that the Pre-Law Society would give me the platform to do so.

What has been the highlight of your time with the Pre-Law Society?

The highlight of my time in the Pre-Law Society has definitely been becoming president of such a great organization and working with a team that is so dedicated.

Is your organization open to all majors?

When it comes to finding new members for your organization, what type of students are you looking for?

Our meetings are every Tuesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Visionary Suite in the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union. The dues for Pre-Law Society are $45 for first-time members and $40 for returning members per semester.

Does your organization have any upcoming events?
