Combating Finals Stress

A multitude of free stress-relieving activities will be available for students during finals week.

Finals can be a stressful time for students, but several departments at San Diego State University are offering activities to help students combat stress and finish the semester strong.

From yoga and therapy dogs to board games and snacks, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Yoga

The Aztec Recreation Center is offering several yoga classes to help students find balance and strengthen their mental focus. The classes will take place on the Recreation Field adjacent to Parking Structure 12. Participants are asked to bring a beach towel.

Power Yoga
8-8:50 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, Recreation Field

Hatha Vinyasa Yoga
8-8:50 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, Recreation Field

The Recreation Field is also open from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. each day for drop-in play. Bring a soccer ball and blow off steam with your friends.

Therapy dogs

Counseling and Psychological Services will have therapy dogs Baxter and Finley at the dome in the Love Library to provide support and stress relief for students.

Baxter:

10 a.m.-12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16, Library

Finley:
10-11:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 19, Library

Finals Relaxer Series

Stop by the Commuter Resource Center on the second floor of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union for a quick treat and study skills advice. The Commuter Resource Center is a great place to study with classmates so feel free to bring your books.

Midnight Study Break

Take a break from studying for finals and take part in the "Pajama Jam." Students are encouraged to wear their pajamas at the event (only appropriate attire will be allowed at the event). Breakfast, study tips, contests and giveaways will be included. This event is free and open to all SDSU students with a valid Red ID.

Free food and drinks

Associated Students will provide free food and coffee in the Student Lounge of the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union during the following times to help students study for finals.
