Statement from SDSU President Elliot Hirshman on the passing of Chancellor Emeritus Charlie Reed:
"On behalf of San Diego State, I wish to express our sadness at the passing of Chancellor Emeritus Charles Reed. Chancellor Reed was a passionate advocate for public higher education in California, supporting California’s aspiration that students from all backgrounds achieve academic success. His leadership of the California State University's graduation initiative helped thousands of students achieve their dreams. We are grateful for Chancellor Reed's leadership and legacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chancellor Reed's family and countless friends."
