A Tribute to SDSUs Campaign Heroes
The new Donor Wall is a public thank you to the 615 major contributors to The Campaign for SDSU.
The names of 615 generous contributors to The Campaign for SDSU will greet and inspire future generations of Aztecs as they stroll past The Campaign for SDSU Donor Wall. Located at the southern end of Campanile Walkway, the wall was unveiled at a ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 4.“The Donor Wall not only recognizes financial contributions, but also serves as a commitment to the future of SDSU by those whose names are inscribed on it.”
The Donor Wall lists the names of major contributors who gave $100,000 or more to The Campaign for SDSU. The university's first-ever comprehensive campaign wrapped up earlier this year, ultimately raising $815.17 million, surpassing the campaign’s $750 million goal. The funds support students, faculty and the continued excellence of scholarship, research and creative endeavors at SDSU.
Gifts from those commemorated on the Donor Wall add up to $478,132,457 million—more than half of total campaign contributions. Their names are cast onto 11 bronze panels set into a wall that is 6-foot-3-inches tall and 46 feet long.
"The Donor Wall not only recognizes financial contributions, but also serves as a commitment to the future of SDSU by those whose names are inscribed on it,” said Patricia Roscoe, vice chair of the stewardship committee for The Campanile Foundation, SDSU’s philanthropic fundraising auxiliary. “We hope it will inspire others to contribute to the university and become Aztecs for Life."
