San Diego State University will host its annual all-campus open house, Explore SDSU, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 17. The event offers prospective students, families, alumni and the campus community an opportunity to learn more about SDSU and its programs.
Explore SDSU offers a campus-wide information fair, campus tours, open houses and academic and student life workshops that can provide future Aztecs with an overview of admission processes, financial aid, academic majors, career services and leadership opportunities.
The information fair, made up of nearly 400 booths set up around campus, connects visitors to academic departments, housing, campus organizations, facilities and programs.
"Explore SDSU gives the campus and surrounding community the opportunity to learn more about the university and its amazing programs and departments,” said Matthew Hebert, director of Student Recruitment and School Relations. “We invite prospective students and their families to explore what life is like as a student at SDSU."

Something for everyone

Numerous open houses and tours of campus facilities will introduce attendees to the many quality departments and programs at SDSU. Among other things, campus visitors can get a behind the scenes look at science and engineering labs and projects, art galleries, residence halls and the KPBS studios.
The university encourages SDSU alumni to visit and reconnect with their favorite programs and departments and explore what has changed at their alma mater. The Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center will be open and staff will offer information about alumni membership, chapters and events.
All visitors are invited to take advantage of the free concerts and musical performances happening as part of Explore SDSU. Visitors can also purchase tickets to watch the School of Theatre, Television, and Film’s stage production of the Tony Award-winning musical "Company."
The Associated Students’ instructional watersports facility, Mission Bay Aquatic Center, will also be open for exploring from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center offers classes and lessons in surfing, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, sailing, kayaking, rowing, and windsurfing.

Attendees should wear comfortable shoes for walking around campus. Parking is free for the day.
If you’re in need of an agenda or campus map, visit an information station located throughout campus. Plan to be flexible as tours are first-come, first-served, and many will reach maximum capacity.
If you have been accepted to SDSU for fall 2018, come prepared to submit your Intent to Enroll and a $400 nonrefundable deposit at the Prospective Student Center in Student Services West.  Both the deposit and the Intent to Enroll will be submitted online via the SDSU WebPortal.

Download the app

For the second consecutive year, attendees will also be able to download an app to help navigate the numerous activities taking place on campus as part of Explore SDSU.
The app includes schedules for workshops and tours, information pages for all open houses, entertainment locations and times, campus maps, parking information, as well as an activity feed that allows attendees to network with each other.
The Explore SDSU 2018 app is available for both iOS and Android devices.
Students and their families planning to attend Explore SDSU are encouraged to register online.
