GradFest 2019: Gateway to Graduation
Everything but the cheers, all in one place.
For graduating seniors, master’s degree and Ph.D. candidates, the preparation comes long before the walk, the photos and the flowers.
GradFest 2019 is a one-stop shop for caps and gowns and graduation memorabilia, and it’s the first place to obtain commencement tickets for family and friends. Organizers have designated a GradFest for each SDSU campus.
San Diego State University main campus: Tuesday, March 26 and Wednesday, March 27, 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Montezuma Hall in the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.
SDSU Imperial Valley: Monday, April 8-Thursday, April 11, 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Aztec Store.
“GradFest is my favorite event of the year,” said Ambre Dorsett, regalia buyer for Aztec Shops, the non-profit auxiliary of SDSU that operates the event. “Many students come with their friends between classes and it is really fun to see their excitement when they receive their cap and gown.”
During Gradfest, cap and gown and diploma frames are sold at a discount rate not available afterwards. Announcements, class rings, flowers, and alumni gear also are available.
To obtain commencement tickets, students must show their SDSU RedID card or a valid, government-issued picture ID.
For a $10 donation toward the Class of 2019 Endowed Scholarship program, students will receive a red-and-white Legacy Cord to wear at graduation and special recognition during the ceremony. With the purchase of a lifetime alumni membership, graduates will receive a free cap and gown.
GradFest also offers a portrait studio (cap and gown or professional business portraits).
