SDSU to Host 2020 Conference Baseball Tournament
It's the fifth time the Mountain West Conference has picked Tony Gwynn Stadium for its championships.
San Diego State University has been selected as the location for the 2020 Mountain West Conference baseball championships, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Tony Gwynn Stadium will host the conference's top four regular-season finishers in a double elimination tournament, May 21-24. The Aztecs have previously hosted the event in 2001, 2010, 2011 and 2018, and the team won the championship title in 2018.
Completed in 1997, the 3,000-seat stadium is named for San Diego Padres great Tony Gwynn, who played both baseball and basketball as an Aztec. Gwynn was head coach for the baseball team for 12 seasons after retiring from the Padres.
