San Diego State University on Monday made a revised offer to San Diego city leaders for the purchase of the Mission Valley stadium site.
After taking into consideration the comments and feedback of the San Diego City Council at the Oct. 14 council meeting, SDSU’s offer now includes an increased purchase price of $86.2 million, clarity on Murphy Canyon Creek ownership and other updated terms. In a letter to SDSU President Adela de la Torre, Mayor Kevin Faulconer offered his support for the revised offer.
The offer is now scheduled to go before San Diego City Council for consideration on Monday, Nov. 18.
“SDSU has listened to the comments of the City Council and greatly values the input of our city leaders,” de la Torre said. “SDSU’s proposed Mission Valley Campus Master Plan project has the opportunity to provide our region with increased educational access, advance our innovation economy and realize a vision that will serve San Diego for generations to come.”
