As San Diego continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, health care workers and first responders across the county are working around the clock to keep our communities safe and healthy. To show first responders how much we value their continued bravery, San Diego State University is proud to announce SDSU Gives Back, an initiative to honor San Diego’s heroic first responders through free online courses.

This program is designed to help San Diego’s police officers, firefighters, and health care workers continue their education. With online courses in marketing, contract management, and geographic information systems, first responders are able to explore a new subject, work toward a professional certificate, or start thinking about going back to school.

“We are incredibly proud and grateful for all of our first responders and the heroic work that they have been doing to keep our community safe during these uncertain times,” said Shara Tscheulin, associate dean of professional and international programs at SDSU World Campus and one of the founding members of the initiative.

“Our SDSU team wanted to show appreciation and extend the opportunity of a free class to these remarkable individuals,” Tscheulin added.
