SDSU Releases Updated 2020 Football Schedule
The Aztecs open the season on Oct. 24 against University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
San Diego State University and Mountain West Conference have released the updated 2020 football schedule. Game times and television arrangements, including moves to non-Saturdays will be announced at a later date.
The Aztecs are coming off a 10-3 season in 2019, capped by a 48-11 win over Central Michigan in the New Mexico Bowl. SDSU recorded its fourth double-digit win season in the last five years and is one of 10 schools to win 10 or more games in at least four of the last five seasons.
SDSU opens its season Oct. 24 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, against University of Nevada, Las Vegas. All home games will be played at Dignity Health Sports Park during the season. The decision allows the university to expedite work on the construction site adjacent to SDCCU Stadium and continue progress on a new stadium, which will be the future home of Aztec football in Mission Valley. The new stadium is scheduled to open in fall 2022.
SDSU will finish its season with a non-conference game on Dec. 12 against Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The Aztecs now have eight games on their 2020 schedule, including seven Mountain West contests.
This year, all 12 teams will compete in one division and the two teams with the highest winning percentage among MW games will play in the eighth conference championship game Saturday, Dec. 19. The team with the highest winning percentage will be the host.
