Virtual Explore SDSU 2021 is scheduled for March 20 and April 17.
“Explore SDSU provides prospective and admitted students and families the perfect opportunity to witness first-hand our campus’s vibrant spirit and connected community.”

For a second straight year, Explore SDSU will be held virtually to provide prospective and admitted students the opportunity to learn all about the advantages of becoming a member of the San Diego State University community.

“We are very excited to showcase all of the reasons why San Diego State University is a great choice for higher education,” said Stefan Hyman, associate vice president for enrollment management. “While we would love to host the event on our beautiful campus, we’re very excited that we’ll be able to offer students from around the globe access to this highly energetic event from the comfort of their own homes.”

Virtual Explore 2021 will be broken into two sessions and participants are encouraged to attend both sessions: Saturday, March 20, and Saturday, April 17, with each session having a combination of live and recorded information sessions for admitted and prospective students, parents, military students, veterans, and more.

The March 20 session, “Virtual Explore: Inside Academics,” will include nearly 80 information sessions about admissions, academic programs and financial aid.

The April 17 session, “Virtual Explore: Beyond the Classroom,” will include nearly 60 information sessions focused on student life, athletics, and diversity and inclusion.

At both sessions, participants will hear from faculty and staff representing different colleges, learn about SDSU’s admissions and financial aid processes, as well as campus offerings and academic majors through online sessions from departments across campus.

“Explore SDSU provides prospective and admitted students and families the perfect opportunity to witness first-hand our campus’s vibrant spirit and connected community,” said Sandra Temores-Valdez, senior director of enrollment.

To help attendees plan for the busy two days, SDSU will be offering a mobile phone application that will share information about each day’s information sessions and allow them create a personalized and effective schedule.

The mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices and can be found in the App Store and Google Play store under the name “Explore SDSU Open House.”

Last year, the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of in-person Explore SDSU 2020. The Explore SDSU committee and campus partners quickly responded determined to provide this valuable event to admitted and prospective students and their families. Now, with more time to prepare, Virtual Explore 2021 is offering nearly double the information sessions offered at last year’s event.

As is tradition at Explore SDSU events, admitted students will learn about the steps to enroll and be given the opportunity to reserve their spot at SDSU.
