Several SDSU Programs Named Among Best Graduate Schools Rankings

San Diego State University's part-time MBA program maintained a five-year climb in annual graduate-school rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

The No. 53 ranking for the part-time MBA program in the Fowler School of Business, in the publication’s 2022 Best Graduate Schools rankings released March 30, was up from No. 55 last year and No. 136 four years ago.

“Our team has worked hard to revise our part-time MBA program over the past two years and we are honored by the continued recognition in the rankings,” said Thomas & Evelyn Page Dean (interim) Bruce Reinig.  “The new curriculum, with a foundational core that is waivable for students from accredited universities, fits the needs of many of our students, particularly those in San Diego County.”

Reinig added: “Our professional core provides the right mix of managerial and analytical graduate content and our electives allow students to tailor the program towards their own career goals. We believe these changes are well aligned with what talented MBA candidates and top recruiters are looking for in graduate business education today.”

Several other rankings are as follows:

• The College of Education was ranked No. 55.
• The College of Engineering ranked No. 56 in the publication's list of aerospace/aeronautical/astronautical programs.
• The graduate program in public affairs ranked No. 73.
• The School of Nursing ranked No. 74.

This is the reality our students face, and SDSU is prepared to respond.”

The graduate programs in SDSU’s School of Public Health were also ranked, at No. 31.

“As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, our school continues to shine,” said Eyal Oren, interim director of the School of Public Health, which offers a variety of undergraduate, master’s and joint doctoral degrees in public health.

“From students engaged in case investigations, to faculty leading work providing testing and contact tracing to our local communities, I am amazed at how we have stepped up to the challenges of the past year in extraordinary ways,” Oren said.
