In addition to the extensive health and safety measures San Diego State University has put in place since the COVID-19 pandemic, the university has been attentive to another important element: whole health.

Committed to addressing the mental and emotional concerns of many over the course of the pandemic period, the university has made a number of investments in support of student, faculty and staff health and well-being. For example, in the last year SDSU has expanded counseling and psychological services and added emergency and other new financial assistance systems for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Here is a guide to some of the places where students, faculty and staff can turn when they need assistance or support, as well as COVID-19 vaccines and testing:

COVID-19 SUPPORT

Student Health Services offers students and employees both COVID-19 vaccine and testing at no cost, including for students not subject to mandatory testing requirements. All three COVID-19 vaccines in distribution in the U.S. (Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson) are available. To schedule an appointment, go to the HealtheConnect appointment portal.

Student Health Services also can provide support and care for students experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are having ongoing medical issues. Call 619-594-4325 for an appointment or telephonic consultation.

The Office of Housing and Residential has developed a detailed isolation and quarantine process for residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. An assessment and response team member will assist students with notification of close contacts as needed, and advise on the length of isolation.

STUDENT SUPPORT

The Student Success help desk serves as a “first stop” for students or other visitors who are unsure of where to go for help and who may need referrals to other campus offices. Students can email [email protected] if they have questions or to seek assistance. Virtual support will be provided during the fall 2021 semester, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the virtual help desk information will be posted online.
