SDSU Programs Continue to Shine in U.S. News Rankings
International business is No. 8 in the nation and the university is No. 67 among public universities, according to the annual listings of Best Colleges.
San Diego State University ranks No. 67 among public universities in the U.S. and maintains a top-10 international business program in the latest annual rankings of the nation’s colleges by U.S. News & World Report.
Released Monday, the “2022 Best Colleges” rankings place SDSU at No. 148 among all national universities.
“Retaining our competitive position is credit to our incredibly dedicated faculty and staff, the achievements of our undergraduate and graduate students, and the innovations within our scientific and research community,” said SDSU President Adela de la Torre.
“SDSU is working toward becoming the world’s model for a public, transborder university,” de la Torre said. “Our place among the nation’s great universities will only continue to strengthen through our strategic plan, which we are advancing each day.”
SDSU is No. 8 in the nation for undergraduate international business, a joint program of the Fowler College of Business and the College of Arts and Letters, matching the ranking in the publication’s 2021 edition. The overall undergraduate business program is ranked No. 74, up seven positions from the previous year.
In a first-ever ranking of undergraduate nursing programs by the publication, SDSU is No. 76.
“We are an extraordinary transnational community of inspirational teachers, phenomenal researchers and engaged citizens, and our rankings continue to reflect that,” said SDSU Provost Salvador Hector Ochoa.
In other highlights of the publication, SDSU is:
- No. 66 nationally in social mobility, looking at the success schools have in graduating students from low-income households.
- No. 86 in “Best for Veterans,” based on enrollment of and benefits for veterans and active-duty service members.
- No. 96 in undergraduate engineering among institutions that offer doctoral degrees (SDSU offers four joint doctoral degrees in engineering science in collaboration with the University of California San Diego).
