Lacrosse Head Coach, Kylee White, Signs Contract Extension
The teams first and only head coach has led them to winning records in four of the last five seasons.
Kylee White has officially signed a five-year contract extension as the San Diego State University lacrosse head coach.
"Kylee is the first and only coach to lead our lacrosse team and she has done an exceptional job of developing the program," said SDSU Athletic Director JD Wicker. "This extension will allow Kylee to build on the momentum our program has achieved under her direction."
The only head coach in program history, White has guided the Aztecs to two of the last three Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) championships and winning records in four of the last five seasons.
"I'm thrilled to be at San Diego State and lead this team for another five years," White said. "This is the only place I want to be. I love my team, their families and all of the San Diego State community.
“We have been building something amazing here for the last 10 years and I am excited for the future of this program. I am so grateful for the continued support the program has received from the university, the athletic department and all of our administration."
In 2018 and 2019, White led SDSU to 11 wins, the most in program history while also claiming the MPSF title. The 2018 team led the MPSF with 15.3 draw controls a game, which ranked 14th in the country. In 2017, the team caused nearly 11 turnovers a game and were 15th in the nation.
With White at the helm, SDSU had produced 35 all-MPSF honorees and had student-athletes named to the MPSF All-Academic Team 77 times, including a program-record 23 in 2021. The Aztecs have also been an Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad five times.
A native of London, Ontario, Canada, White played in four International Federation of Women’s Lacrosse Associations (IFWLA) World Cups for her native country. White led the Canadians to their first bronze medal in 27 years in the 2009 World Cup and propelled them to a silver medal in the 2013 World Cup played in Canada. At the 2005 tournament, she ranked in the top five for caused turnovers per game and was nominated for the All-World team. In November 2016, White was inducted into the London (Ontario) Sports Hall of Fame.
