Women's 4x400m Team Posts Second Best Time in SDSU History

Three record-setting speedsters return to help SDSU's relay team set a promising pace for 2022

The Aztec track and field team wrapped up the Texas Tech Open Saturday, their first indoor meet of the season. The day was highlighted by the SDSU 4x400m team running the second fastest time in the program's indoor history.   The team of Rhea Hoyte, Jalyn Harris, Sakura Roberson and Nyjari McNeil finished in 3:39.44, which earned them fourth place.

Harris, Roberson and McNeil were part of the 4x400m team that set the school record in 2020.

Jada Moore, who had a strong showing the day prior, had a new PR in the 200m dash. She finished in 24.08 to earn eighth place and beat her previous best time by one hundredth of a second. She finished second among sprinters from non-power five schools.

Harris finished right behind her, crossing the finish line in 24.25 to earn ninth place.

Hoyte (35th, 25.22), Aisha Watt (48th, 25.62), Anaya Alexander (59th, 26.07), Tai McDonald (66th, 26.242) and Vanessa Spizewski (76th, 26.90) also competed in the 200m dash.

Jenna Fee Feyerabend made her Aztec debut in the high jump and finished 14th with a jump of 5-05.75 (1.67m).

Onyi Anigbogu was the lone SDSU thrower competing and she finished eighth in the B section with a throw of 42-11.00 (3.08m).

UP NEXT

The Aztecs will be in Albuquerque for their next three meets beginning next weekend with the NM Collegiate Classic.
