Video: Fowler Students Share 'The Best Thing I've Done at SDSU'
Students at SDSUs College of Business Council share their most empowering SDSU experiences.
As high school seniors anxiously await their college acceptance letters, we talked to students who’ve enrolled at SDSU’s Fowler College of Business and asked them: What’s the best/most important thing you’ve done as an SDSU student?
We posed this question to the officers of the Fowler College of Business Council (CBC). The council supports the many student organizations affiliated with the Fowler College of Business and acts as a liaison between the student organizations and SDSU’s Associated Students, which serves as SDSU’s student government.
Each one of the student officers interviewed said the important thing they’ve done at SDSU was to join campus organizations for the valuable networking opportunities, comradery and leadership experience they’ve gained.
“I’m so happy and proud of the amazing friendships, connections and mentorships I’ve been able to experience though my time in my sorority (Gamma Phi Beta), my business clubs and the Fowler College of Business Council,” said CBC president Meghan Mahoney. “I highly encourage all SDSU students to get involved in multiple areas on campus, because it really exposes you to a diverse set of people who can have a positive impact on you.”
CBC executive vice president, Jake Lundstrom, said the most important thing he did was to establish a new student organization, the Aztec Trading and Investing Group.
“SDSU really set me up with the tools for success that I needed to start the organization from the ground up, build its following and recruit its members” he said. “It was a great experience and I’ll forever be thankful for it.”
