Registration is Open, and a New Guide is Available
Nov. 28 is the start of registration, and the university community is using my.SDSU for the first time to register.
As part of San Diego State University’s transition to our new student information system, all students are registering for Spring 2023 with my.SDSU.
Registration opens today, Nov. 28, through the online portal for student admissions, student records, financial aid, tuition and fee payment, and other processes.
“We recognize how big of a transition this is for our campus, and are eager to support our students as they learn the new interface,” said Stefan Hyman, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. “Change is always hard at first, but we think our students will immediately appreciate how mobile-friendly my.SDSU is compared to WebPortal. I’m also extremely proud of all of the staff who worked tirelessly for several years to get us to this point.”
Every year, all SDSU students will receive a registration window to sign up for their upcoming semester's courses. This includes undergraduate, Global Campus, and graduate students. Instead of WebPortal, this process is now occurring in my.SDSU.
“The transition to my.SDSU has required a tremendous amount of planning, collaboration and diligence, as our new student information system touches many important aspects of what we do in service to our students,” said Jerry Sheehan, Vice President for Information Technology.
An extensive guide was created to aid students, faculty and staff in the new process, with step-by-step instructions and visuals to help ensure ease in the process.
“We are pleased to have reached this milestone, as my.SDSU is securing and unifying processes in support of our students – their ability to connect with their family, to get staff support, to register with ease, and many other benefits,” Sheehan said.
Additionally, SDSU is encouraging all undergraduates to register for a 15-unit course load in Spring 2023.
“Students who register for 15 units are more likely to succeed in their classes, graduate in 4 years, and save money on tuition and books,” said Joanna Brooks, Associate Vice President for Faculty Advancement and Student Success.
SDSU will continue to use a post-pay model for student tuition and fee payments. Students will pay tuition and fees in my.SDSU after enrolling in spring 2023 classes. The due date for all tuition fees is Jan. 11, 2023.
