Mirroring last week, when it was ranked No. 24 in both national polls, the San Diego State men's basketball team moved up two spots in both the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Polls, slotting in at No. 22 in each organization's rankings this week.

SDSU totaled 265 points in the AP poll and 141 in the Coaches poll and continues to be the only Mountain West program to be ranked in either.

With its appearance in this week's AP poll, San Diego State is ranked for the 93rd week since the start of the 2010-11 season, more than any other program in the state of California in that time frame.

San Diego State is ranked No. 22 for the fifth time in school history. With the exception of No. 12, SDSU has appeared in every position in the poll between No. 4 and No. 25.

Monday's poll ranking marks the fifth time SDSU has appeared in the AP Top 25 on this date.

With a win against UC Irvine and Occidental College, the Aztecs were able to remain ranked.

Last Tuesday, the Aztecs pulled off a win against the Anteaters with a 3-pointer made by Micah Parrish. With 2.4 seconds left in the game, San Diego State finished strong with a 72-69 win.

Last Friday, the Aztecs cruised past Occidental College with a 95-57 win. Occidental (2-3) trailed 30-18 with 7:40 left in the first half. The Aztecs then broke loose and led 59-29 at the break. San Diego State’s 19 3-pointers tied a single-game high at Viejas Arena since it opened for the 1996-97 Aztecs season.
