January Social Calendar: Welcome Back!

After a long winter break, SDSU's first day of classes marks the beginning of a new semester.

Starting on Wednesday, Jan. 18, San Diego State University is back in session for the spring semester! After celebrating the holiday season, SDSU’s first day of classes repopulates the campus back into the bustling university it is during the school year.

Here is a list of activities to get back into the swing of things!

SDSU Men of Color Alliance

Every Wednesday the SDSU Men of Color Alliance (MoCA) meets from 12 p.m. -1 p.m. in (place TBD). The goal of the group is to support and empower men of color on campus through their personal and professional development.

Computational Science Research Center Colloquium Speaker

SDSU College of Sciences will continue to host their CSRC Speaker series, where guest speakers in the sciences are invited to give guest lectures about their research and professional careers. (undecided if this will be in GMSC 314 or over Zoom)

SDSU Men’s Basketball Game

At 8 p.m. in Viejas Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 25, the San Diego State Aztecs will face off against the Utah State Aggies in their first home game of the semester. Tickets for students are free via Ticketmaster so long as they log in with their SDSU email address. Tickets for the general public are also available for purchase.

Volunteer for the 2023 Lung Force Walk San Diego

Volunteers are needed to support the 2023 Lung Force Walk, a fundraising walk supporting lung cancer lung disease research. The walk starts at 6 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28 at Liberty Station NTC Park. To sign up, click the link to participate.

Intro to Ultimate Frisbee Clinic

The ARC is hosting an ultimate frisbee class on Rec Field 103 from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30. No experience necessary! The class is free to SDSU students and to register go to the Adventures and tap on the Aztec Recreation App to sign up. 

Monster Energy Supercross at Snapdragon Stadium

While no Aztec sporting events will be held in Snapdragon Stadium this January, it will be home to the third round of the Western Regional 250SX Class Championship. At 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, the stadium will host the international dirt bike racing event. Doors open at 12 p.m.
