SDSU March Social Calendar: Events You Can't Miss
As we are entering the middle of the semester, SDSU is hosting a number of amazing events ranging from sporting events to a fashion show!
Here is a list of events you don’t want to miss in March!
Intro to Cast Iron Cooking Clinic
Are you ready to learn the art form that is cooking with cast iron? From 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 1, the Aztec Recreation Center will be hosting a free program where you will learn how to care for your cookware and how cooking with cast iron is different from regular pots and pans. Register on the Aztec Recreation App and don’t forget to click the Aztec Adventures Icon!
Mending Minds Meditation & Breathwork Class
Inhale. Exhale. Repeat. Enjoy a meditation & breathwork class on Friday, Mar. 3 from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. The event is being hosted by Mending Minds with Jenny M. Register on the Aztec Recreation App prior to attending.
2023 March Madness
The annual and Mountain West (MW) conference and NCAA Final Four tournaments are sure to stir excitement at SDSU. The Aztecs kick off March Madness in Las Vegas for the MW conference tournament starting with women hoops on Sunday, Mar. 5 then Wednesday, Mar. 8 for the men's tournament. On Sunday, Mar. 12, the college basketball world will turn its attention to NCAA Selection Sunday for both men's and women's brackets. The NCAA First Four games tip off Mar. 14 for men, Mar. 15 for women.
Paint and Relax
Come pick up a paintbrush at the Paint and Relax event hosted by the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity. This event will take place on Monday, Mar. 6 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Commuter Resource Center on the Second floor of the Student Union.
Champions League Viewing
Are you a Bayern Munich or PSG fan? On Wednesday, Mar. 8 from 12 to 1 pm, the Center for Commuter Life will be having a Champions League Viewing event. You can watch the game in the Commuter Resource Center on the second floor of the student union.
Instead, if you are a fan of Real Madrid or Liverpool, you are in luck! The Center for Commuter Life is hosting another Champions League Viewing event on Wednesday, Mar. 15 from 1 to 2p.m. in the same location.
Women in Leadership Conference
The 7th annual Women in Leadership Conference is taking place on Thursday, Mar. 9th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Montezuma Hall. The program is designed to focus on issues females face in the workplace while equipping students with the skills and confidence they’ll need to thrive. The conference will include panel discussions, engaging presentations, and a networking reception. Students from all majors are welcome to attend. Real Talk: “In and Out of The Shadows: The Undocumented Male Experience”
On Wednesday, Mar. 8th from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., The Young Men of Color Alliance is hosting their third Real Talk of the Spring semester. Real Talk holds space for conversations about heritage months, relationships, and resisting oppression. On Wednesday, they will be discussing the undocumented, male experience. Superfest Disability Film Festival
Join the Student Ability Success Center for a Superfest Disability Film Festival on Wednesday, Mar. 15 from 12 - 2 p.m. Presented by San Francisco State’s Pauk K. Longmore Institute on Disability, this virtual film showcase will feature short films that highlight disability culture and filmmaking. Food Truck Late Night Eats
Enjoy some late-night eats on Campanile Walkway from 10 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 17 to 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 18. Food trucks will be giving out free food like spam musubi, pork buns, churros, and more! Food for current students only, check-in required.
Black Fashion Show
For the first time, SDSU will be having a Black Fashion Show! This event will take place on Friday, Mar. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. SDSU students will showcase their designs by expressing creativity within the Black culture. Enjoy this wonderful show as they “amplify Black beauty through the lens of fashion.” For more information, check out the Black Resource Center’s Instagram page.
SDSU Diamonds Showcase
It’s Showtime! Join the SDSU Diamonds at their annual dance showcase for a night you won’t forget. The event will include performances from the Diamonds themselves, as well as performances from other students and organizations. If you love what the Diamonds have been doing at football and basketball games, you don’t want to miss what they have in store for the showcase. The showcase will take place on Sunday, Mar. 12 at 6:30 pm. Purchase your tickets now!
