Explore SDSU 2023: Admitted Students Day
Explore SDSU offers admitted students an in-depth look at the opportunities available to them on campus including academics, financial aid, campus life and athletics.
San Diego State University will host its annual all-campus open house, Explore SDSU, Saturday, April 15 offering admitted students and families the opportunity to learn more about the university and its programs. This year’s open house happening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is specifically designed for admitted students and their families and will be fully in-person for the first time since 2019.
“We are so pleased to be able to showcase all that SDSU has to offer, fully in person once again, to all of our newly admitted first-year students and families, as well as all of our newly admitted transfer students,” said Matthew Hebert, Director of Student Enrollment and School Relations.“New this year, we have designed a village on campus devoted to transfer student resources and robust programming exclusively to highlight the many student services and opportunities for our new students who are transferring from community colleges.”
Explore SDSU offers a campus-wide information fair, campus tours, open houses and academic and student life workshops as well as opportunities to hear from faculty and staff representing the different colleges. These are each designed to provide future students and their families an overview of academic majors, financial aid, career services, leadership opportunities, athletics, and more.
The information fair, made up of nearly 300 booths set up around campus, connects visitors to academic departments, housing, campus organizations, athletics, facilities and programs and will be able to offer information, answer questions and provide a glimpse into what it is like as a member of the SDSU community.
Registration is encouraged and interested admitted students and their families can RSVP online.
To help attendees plan for the busy day, SDSU has designed a mobile phone application with details on information sessions and the ability to create a personalized and effective schedule.
The mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices and can be found in the App Store and Google Play store under the name “Explore SDSU Open House.”
The university also encourages all students to download the new SDSU Safe app which is designed to address and promote personal safety both on and off campus and includes features such as safety notifications, campus maps, a form to report incidents and obtain contact information for university support services
